Energy

The purpose of this site is to provide a resource and to help raise awareness about renewable energy technologies, with the hope that our civilization will be able to overcome the current energy crisis through the research and development of sustainable energy sources.

Mainstream awareness of this topic is growing, and new alternative energy companies are attracting the attention of investors worldwide. In our news section, you can get the latest alternative energy news from around the internet.

COATINGMASTER

Coatingmaster furnaces are vacuum furnaces designed for chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) of refractory ceramic and metallic coatings. Standard furnaces are rated for use to 1600°C, with an optional upgrade to 2200°C for pyrolytic graphite and other high temperature deposition processes.
Each vacuum furnace is supplied as a complete system including: vacuum chamber; hot zone; power supply; vacuum pump; and a programmable control system. Manual process controls are provided for two reactant gases and one inert blanket gas. Additional flow channels are optionally available, as well as fully automatic process and blanket gas control systems.

HeatSeeker & Thermal Imaging

The best thermal imaging, infrared cameras, night vision, and thermal weapon sights by FLIR, L3, Elcan,Raytheon with Gen 3 image intensifiers and advanced low light CCD sensors are available. We also offer inexpensive Heat Seekers & Thermal Imagers that are the latest in search and rescue technology. We supply these devices to the Military, Search and Rescue teams, and Fire and Law Enforcement departments. Unlike Night Vision devices that rely on amplification of light, heatseekers and thermal imaging cameras rely on detection of human and animal heat.

High Temperature Vacuum Furnaces

Thermal Technology Inc. designs and manufactures vacuum furnaces and controlled atmosphere high temperature furnaces for a large variety of applications in both industry and laboratory environments. The following list will help you select a vacuum furnace that is appropriate for your application

Thermal Technology

As Engineers, we believe we should use all resources as efficiently as possible - it has always been our philosophy.

Thermal Technology operates in two ways. Firstly as a Supplier and Manufacturer of its own products, which are made in three manufacturing plants in Warminster, Southampton and Bristol. These products are the Recupovent, and Shallovent Ranges of Ventilation/Heat Recovery Units and Steam Boilerhouse Products (Blowdown Tanks/Exhaust Heads/Deaerators/ Condensate Return Sets/Hotwells etc).

Secondly as a Supplier of larger Air Handling Units, Chillers, Heat Pumps, Air Cooled Condenser for Air Conditioning and Process Applications.

The combined turnover of Thermal Technology and our Suppliers is in excess of £30 million.

Thermal Technology have representation throughout the UK and products have been supplied to many Overseas Countries, as far afield as Australia, Hong Kong, Gibraltar, New Zealand, Antarctica, Pakistan, the Ascension Islands, South Africa etc.

Our Outside Staff are able to assemble 'Flat Pack' Units on Site and carry out other after-sales functions, such as simple pulley and belt changes to fans.

Thermal Technology is a Member of BSI and individuals are Members of C.I.B.S.E. (and the Energy Institute). Our Employees are considered to be experts in the fields of Air to Air Heat Recovery, Ground Source Heat Pumps, Chillers, Condensers, Air Handling Equipment, Heat Transfer, Acoustics, Controls and Steam Boilerhouse Equipment. Manufacturing Plants for the larger items of equipment, work with Internal Quality Assurance Systems to IS0 9001-2000.

California Steel to Boost Production Capacity

California Steel Industries, Inc. (CSI) announced plans to increase total annual production capacity by one million tons with the addition of a second reheat furnace with state-of-the-art environmental technology. The investment also includes associated additional improvements in cooling-water treatment and in slab-handling facilities, for a total investment of approximately $60 million. The new equipment will give CSI the capability and flexibility to produce up to 3 million tons of carbon-steel flat-rolled sheet and pipe per year.

The new natural-gas-fired walking beam reheat furnace employs selective catalytic reduction (SCR) emission-control technology and highly efficient burners. Emissions will be lower than those associated with the current furnace, which was built in 1997.

Thermal Techology

Thermal Technology prides itself on the high quality of technical and application advice given to our Customers. All of our products are made to order to meet our customer's requirements. For this reason, we believe in providing sound technical solutions to our customers design problems.

Energy/heat recovery is in our blood. We have been involved in the manufacture and supply of Air to Air Energy Recovery Equipment for nearly 40 years. We have been manufacturing Ventilation/Heat Recovery Units for over 20 years. We have cared about saving energy before global warming was even thought about and before C02 emissions became a topic of conversation for Politicians.

Alternative Energy Savings

Industry managers are being challenged to trim costs and remain competitive with the expanding global market. Heat treaters are seeking new technologies to help alleviate their growing expenses. It would be great if it were as simple as putting a lock on the thermostat and asking employees to wear warmer clothes. Natural gas is an essential component of the heat-treat industry. This is not a small concern or even a passing one. Fossil fuels are a finite resource. As our economics professors taught us, as demand increases and resources dwindle, prices inevitably rise. Currently, new sources for fuel are being explored. The needs of heat treaters are pressing, however, and an answer is needed as soon as possible.
